Identifying succulent plant from Snowdonia

daccupJune 17, 2014

I'm stuck for an ID on a plant growing along the Devil's Kitchen path on the northern edge of Snowdonia national park in Wales.

It is an erect succulent with yellow flowers that was perched on a large boulder. I couldn't get close enough to have a good look at the flowers. The photo isn't incredibly detailed but gives a general idea of floral structure if you zoom in.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks very much Carol23 and floral_uk. Definitely looks like Rhodiola rosea, and habitat description matches.

Let me know if either of you need help with NZ plants.
