It seems like a shrub of sorts, but the presence of a few of them makes me think it's a weed and should be done away with. Any ideas on what it is?
Thanks as usual,
It looks like a tomato, could be a nightshade of some kind.
It also could be young plants of giant ragweed..but I'm afraid I can't tell definitively.
Thanks, I too thought of nightshade, but the ones I've seen in the past were more vine-like, whereas this is looking like a woody shrub.
But from more looking around, it too should be eradicated though I have no kids or pets running through it.
Solanum dulcamara - Woody Nightshade, I'd say.
Looks enough like potato that it could be a volunteer - did you grow them last year?
No - that's no potato - look at the trifoliate lower leaves - and they're smooth too.
Floral UK is spot on....no potatoes have been grown in the yard in the last 48 years, according to the neighbor.
From what I read, this doesn't sound like something I would want to propagate on behalf of various wildlife, correct?
No, it's pretty much a weed here.
