We've a water Hawthorne blooming. Water temperature is only 43 F. Is this common?

Water Hawthorne prefers cooler temps. Therefore, they will bloom in early Spring (or whenever temps are right) and again in the Fall. They will go dormant in the Summer where temps get hot and in the Winter. Hope that helps.

hi albert, mine are blooming like crazy in a small sheltered pond 15 feet from the house on the northwest side. they do it every year at this time, and they smell good if you can get close enough. and even better, they spread!
i love them and bees do too if it gets warm enough.
