Fall Project

CPTKNovember 2, 2013

We all know it's too late to overseed at this point. But is it too late to grow and plant plugs? If I planted Kentucky Bluegrass plugs indoors this weekend I'd probably be looking at planting out on 1 DEC. Would the young plugs simply go dormant if planted out or would they die?

They would most likely die. Grass needs time to harden off for the winter. Bringing 2 month old KBG directly outside in freezing temps would probably be too much of a shock.

Darn, guess I'll have to take a break from my lawn addiction until Spring.
