white clover and moss

tewitt1949November 4, 2013

I've had a problem with moss as I have some large trees in my yard. I been told that lime will kill moss. Tryed it and had no luck. I've tryed other things and moss still comes back. Even round up only killed surface moss, then it comes back again.
Was wondering since clover would probably produce more shade compared to regular grass, do you think any moss would die from lack of sunshine?

Moss is a symptom that more-advanced plants like grass can't do well in a location. It can be shade, water, pH or traffic compaction. Moss will keep returning until the underlying problem is corrected. Lime will not do it. Clover will not do it. Unless you're sure that shade is the only problem, a good professional soil test (not a Home Depot special) will point at the problem to correct.
