Lawn Mounds

donfalcoDecember 22, 2012

I find numerous small dirt mounds scattered around my lawn (see left side of picture with quarter for size ref). If you scrape away the dirt mound, there is a neat little hole going down into the ground (see right side of picture). There are scores, if not hundreds of these things around my lawn. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the heck these are? Thanks.

Earthworms leave holes like that.
