Wrist Surgery pointers?
Yep, my idea of just wearing a cast for life was nixed by the docs ;] Besides, I can't shuffle cards in poker and that just will not do! 20% copay though, oy...
So, I'm looking at surgery for De Quervain's Somethingoranother... similar to the opening up in Carpal Tunnel surgery if I understand correctly. Well, there may be a cyst that causes the pain, don't know if CT involves that, but I don't believe the cyst removal makes the surgery s ignificantly different.
[No, I didn't DO anything to it! Stupid disorder pops up sometimes sans warning - maybe a cyst, which clearly doesn't count in my accident total ;] It is my dodgy hand from nerve damage before so I don't use it like the other, anyway. But thumbs are nice, tis true.]
-- Would y'all go to a hand surgery specialist? I know many of you have had CT surgery and wondered if a hand guy did yours.
--- What the heck is local anesthesia for something like this? Wide awake with local shots? Cool if I can watch the surgery! Although I had that for some oral surgeries and babe, it still hurt and was very icky truly.
I know, yes I will ask the doc more details but at the moment I told them I'm not rushing and will be back later, lol.
Any more points, tips, good docs in the Triad area, etc are much appreciated. It's no biggie but I'd feel like an idiot if I found that my pals had advice or words of wisdom from their surgeries and I just never asked them about it!
And Catkim, if you see this, is your wrist better, I hope?
