I captured a bunch of tiny tadpoles today and put them in a big tub with some pond water. What do I feed these guys? I ground up koi food and sprinkled that in and they seem to eat it. Obviously they can't be in our ponds now because my koi would eat them in a second. But I would like to grow them big enough to have them live in my ponds and put the others back in the place they came from.

They eat algae, try some leaf lettuce.

I have set up a series of six cement mixer tubs in the full sun of my front yard for baby frogs and tadpoles. I just put a bunch of plants (parrots feather, pickerel rush, water mints, etc.) and let it grow in the sun.

Do you have any plants with lots of algae growing on them? You don't want to give the little guys dirty water, but nice, warm, pea soup would make them very happy!

Thanks..I have them in a big tub filled with well water and half pond water. When we cleaned the pond filter today, I put some of that algae water in too. I put betta flakes in as well. I moved them more in the shade. None have died. I'll get lettuce for them.

You can buy tablets of compressed algae made for aquarium algae eaters. I try to get some in early spring for the pond since algae doesn't last long in my pond.

Who even knows what these are but they're black and round with tails and no legs yet. So far none have died. There are 40.
