Could be Black gum, Nyssa sylvatica.

Thanks Esh and Jeanne! They *look* more like the tupelo/black gum but they are very young. No acorns so I don't think they're oaks though maybe young trees don't produce acorns? Going to keep an eye out for flowers and berries next yr.
