what is this

dorothypalmerJuly 12, 2014

When I bought this at a local farmers market it was small and I was told it was spinach. It doesn't look like it now. It has one stalk (vine ?) almost 2' long with alternating leaves and the vine is a deep purple. Any ideas what it is?

Thanks everyone! I just tasted a leaf... interesting. Very flavorful. So I guess it wasn't really a spinach but had "spinach" in it's name.
