My sister in law sent me this photo and I know I should recognize it but I don't. The only description other than the image is..."it's a large shrub" and that it's growing in South Bend, IN. Sorry. Thank you in advance.
the round leaves always remind me of cotoneaster ...
but that is a guess..
defining 'large'.. might also help ... i am thinking.. over 10 feet????

There's no indication of scale in the picture but compare with various Cotoneaster species.
Thank you both very much!
Where is the shrub located? My first thought was of Natal plum.!
South Bend, Indiana.
I am going to have to go with natal plum (Carrisa macrocarpa), as well. From my recollection, the fruit of most cotoneaster is grouped together, in bunches, or there is more abundant fruit than natal plum. Leaves don't quite match cotoneaster.

Not natal plum. NP's leaves are opposite, or nearly so, shiny bright green with a small terminal spine. My first impression was also cotoneaster, but I don't have time to check into the id right now.
