You all know how I hate coleus, but I seem to have saved a few (quite a few) stems in water. Now the darned things are sending out roots! OK, it's the end of September. What do I do with them? Pot them up? Keep them in water and continue to pinch them back until next May? That's EIGHT months away! Do I put them under lights where they'll grow too tall to fit? Siiiigh. See why I hate coleus?

Well, well, coleus sending out roots, imagine that???? ROTFLOL - I'd pot them up now, I don't have much luck keeping coleus alive indefinitely in water but I know others have. After you pot them put them under your lights. When they start putting on new growth pinch them back frequently. If the stems get too thick and hard take cuttings of the top growth and start over again.

I agree with Deanne, if I keep them in water too long they rot. I usually don't bother with the water and just pot and keep slightly moist. I believe you've been bit they the coleus "bug"
