What a memory from around 1941 - 46. I actually used to do that when my uncle picked us up on the second Christmas holiday (yes, in Germany we have 2 days) and brought us to grandfather's farm !Depending on the weather, with the carriage or the sled. Private vehicles at that time where not allowed due to gasoline and tire shortage.

I have pretty much the same memories as you have, anneliese. When I visited my aunt's farm, we had a horse drawn carriage or sled, depending on the season.
