Vigorous Bush

moore99July 27, 2014

This is from a shrub that has grown in on the corner of our home. We are the original owners, and we did not plant it, but it took root on its own, and was very aggressive, not in crowding out other plants, but simply in its own growth, so we left it to see what it would do.

It is very dense, both in foliage and the wood itself. I think it would make a good hedge if several were planted in a row, but it is getting far to large for where it is growing now, and we will likely remove it soon. We have trimmed it back each year and it comes on with a vengeance. The main trunk is about 4" across now

Can cuttings be taken from it? Is it a desirable plant for hedge use or should I just remove it and put it behind me?"
