Can you help identify this plant?
Thanks in advance,
Parthenocissus quinquefolia aka Virginia Creeper.
Hi, thanks, that was quick!, Is this a weed? I found it growing in my garden, next to some ivy I was pulling off my roses. I like the leaf shape, didn't want to pull it until I named it, :)
Thanks again floral_uk.
As the saying goes, a weed is a plant in the wrong place. Virginia creeper is a very aggressive climber. If you have a big fence or wall or a lot of ground to cover, then it's a good plant for that (interesting leaves, great fall color, high wildlife value). If you have a small garden, it's probably not a great choice since you'll spend inordinate amounts of time trying to control it.
And it is a N American native.
