Help identifying wild plant

DonTurnerJuly 14, 2014

Can anyone tell me the name of this plant with heart-shaped, dark colored leaves? I photographed it in a swamp in eastern NY State (Putnam County). Thanks!!

Thinking Pontederia cordata, pickerelweed. The dark color might be because it is growing in shade.
