I am trying to find out what this plant is that is growing in my sister's yard in Washington. Does anyone recognize it?

A Clerodendrum, I think. Maybe C. Trichotomum. Some have a sweet smell, at least one Clerodendrum is an invasive plant in my region, but I can't remember which one.

Here is a link that might be useful: Clerodendrum

Leycesteria formosa - absolutely definitely. Common self seeder over here. The purple berries smell of burnt caramel.

Floral's got it!! Often goes by common name of Himalayan honeysuckle or pheasant berry. Much loved by hummingbirds.

Well - Carol23 got it first. But maybe she just doesn't see as much of it as I do hence the?

Pheasant Berry because it was planted in game coverts as food. Sadly no humming birds to enjoy it here.
