PInk and green leaved tree

This is a small to mid-sized tree that I've seen growing locally (zone 5, NY). Anyone familiar with it? Thanks for your help!

That's a tricolor beech, beautiful specimen tree, very expensive! Lucky you.

Thanks to you both! Not that lucky, kirimarie, it's actually just a neighborhood tree, not my own, at least not until I figure out how to best propagate it. :) It really is just gorgeous and I do wish it were mine!

Try looking up whether you can propagate it by cuttings, and if you can, ask the owner of the tree if you can take a few cuttings! It is very pretty.

it is usually propagated thru grafting ...

but there is always a shot in the dark .... that it one in a hundred might root ..

refer to dirrs manual on propagation ...

ps: the pink fades to white.. and if not perfectly sited.. burns right off ... but.. in my world.. every plant has its season... and later summer is not this plants glory season ...
