ID this plant? Supposedly dame's rocket

a_shau(San Francisco 8b)August 22, 2014

Hey all - I got this from a generous seed gifter here at gw. The packet said this is Dame's Rocket - but when I google the plant the leaves don't look like the ones that show up in google.

Does anyone know what it might be? Here's a pic:

It's the pot at the top of the photo.
The leaves are slightly fuzzy.

Thanks!

It does look like a Hesperis matronalis seedling. The leaves will change when it matures.

Don't you mean Hesperis?

OK so just to clarify, the leaves on that top pot, which have smooth, rounded edges, will change as it matures?

The two plants in the bottom pots are canterbury bells and balloon flower.

Looks sort of like it. I don't remember them being that fuzzy, but it has been forever. Invasive in the U.S.

Here is a link that might be useful: Dame's Rocket

Thanks for the link AuroraWA. Yeah these leaves do not look anything like the ones in the picture. I don't think these are Dame's rocket...hmmm...

It reminds me a lot of a young lychnis coronaria crown.

None of the plants in the photo is Hesperis matronalis. The grey felted leaves do look like Lychnis coronaria.
