Nine Bark Tree/Shrub?

jesse6August 19, 2010

Does anyone know how to prune/trim a Nine Bark? We planted one last year in our front yard garden and it's now spiney with shoots over 2 feet. Can these just be clipped off?

Thank you!

hi jesse. this is the Gallery thread. if you want someone to answer your question, you'd be better off posting it on the Discussions side instead.

I just bought a ninebark and read that it can be pruned anyway... seems to be hardy like a butterfly bush. I just pruned my butterfly bush down a couple feet and it's filling in beautifully and will probably reflower a bit before the cold comes.
