Yes it does appear to be Dichorisandra thyrsiflora. Not a true ginger, you probably know that. Makes quite a good cut-flower too with the bonus that the stems usually root in water and give you the potential of more plants.
Thank you for your help! I would have responded sooner but I was on holiday. To let you know, the blue ginger flower is as pretty as the first time it bloomed. I'll take your advice and try to root from the stems.
