ID Please - It's not half prickly

sam_mdMarch 26, 2012

The guy wanting a shrub to block dogs made me think of this one. I first saw it in the rhino pen of the Phila Zoo, it was untouched. Although the mockingbirds absolutely love it for nestbuilding. Sadly, little or no fragrance in those pure white flowers. I have never known anything, man nor beast, to eat the small, round, golfball sized fruits. Can you name it?

Poncirus trifoliata - Trifoliate Orange

The variety 'Flying Dragon' is a smaller, denser variation.
