Frost... Red Twig Dogwoods

soilsenasuilMarch 26, 2012

Hi, I have some year old Red Twig Dogwoods (3 regular, 2 variegated) and we will have a frost advisory. They have just put out new leaves...should I cover them, or leave them alone. Thank you! Soilsenasuil

Leave them alone. These are some of the most cold hardy shrubs available. Frost damage to foliage should be slight, if any, and the plant can withstand a complete defoliation should catastrophic temperatures befall :-)
