what kind of flower is this?

kevin_setzerAugust 21, 2013

This is a strange plant . No leaves, just a stalk about 2+ft. Coming out of bare ground. It came up very fast the stalk was 2ft almost overnight. Then took two days to bloom.I have never seen anything like it before.I have more pictures. Just shot up out if bare dry ground more or less over night.
I would be very gratefull for any help. It's sort of driving me nuts. No leaves no sign if a root system just the shoot and so fast. Is it something like a. Fungus that has shot up to release spores? But the flowers look more like a Lilly.

It looks like Lycoris squamigera, aka Naked Ladies. It flowers long after the foliage has died down. In spring the foliage emerges.
