Growing in a thicket I was going to clear

Could you please help me yet again. I noticed the white and mauve flowers below growing in an area that is an overgrown, wild thicket right now, very shady. I like the flowers and will try to save the plants. It would be great if I could get and ID.

I believe both plants are double Rose of Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus. Perhaps someone else can tell you the cultivar names.

Thank you, missingtheobvious. I thought it could be Rose of Sharon, but was confused by the flowers because I've never seen the double flowers before! Exciting!
