Bloomerang - any feedback?

Hi,

I am looking for a shrub to plant next to my korean dwarf lilac along the foundation.

When I read about bloomerang, everything sounds wonderful if what's said is true. How has your experience been? Does it really re-bloom reliably? How does reblooms compare to May bloom?

Does anyone know how the mature size is compared to korean dwarf?

Thanks!

euni

Laceyvail. Bloomerang is a kind of lilac that is supposed to rebloom throughout the summer. I don't know the exact latin name.
Below is the link from the proven winner.

I have one Zone 3. It winters but does not thrive as I was hoping. Stayed fairly small. Like maybe 2 ft. All my other lilacs ( 10 + ) do great. Might just be I'm not giving it the right care but at my place it's survival of the fittest.

I planted a Bloomerang last year. It was very small when I got it--about 1 foot tall and 1 foot wide. It did well last year despite a fierce drought and has nearly tripled in size. Even my landscape architect was amazed at how much it grew in just one year.

It's blooming profusely right now. Last year it was blooming when I got it in the spring, stopped blooming for a bit. Then it bloomed from midsummer until frost.
