How keep a stem of Rose?

konamiMarch 4, 2012

Dear readers,

I've a stem of red rose and I put it in a bottle of water.

Since we live in an apartment and there is no garden, I wanted to ask if it is possible to keep and bring it up in water?

Or, since it has been cut from stem, how can I prepare a vase and put the rose in soil?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think that would work.

Roses require a lot of sun. Do you have a balcony? Go to the propagation forum to learn how to root cuttings.

It is possible to root a cut flower, I once knew a woman with a garden full of roses she had rooted from cut flowers in bouquets. But, I don't really know how to do it, just that people do it. Look for directions on rooting rose cuttings, the internet has lots of info on this.

There are lots of ways to root rose cuttings. Go to the propagation forum and do a search and find one that you think might work for you. Or you can try several ways to see which one you like best.
