Something attacking my Boxwood! Help please

stook1May 17, 2014

I seem to have some kind of disease or insect attacking a large boxwood in my yard. Hoping for some assistance identifying what is going one. I've linked some photos - any help would be most appreciated! The shrub is a little wet in the photos, just to be clear. In addition to the look of these leaves, I am loosing a lot of leaves that are turning light brown or tan and falling off. I am seeing new growth of leaves on the top of the shrub (not pictured).

All those leaves are obviously dead.
The spots & dots may well be secondary fungi which decompose dead stuff. (In other words, if you get rid of the dead stuff, you get rid of the decomposers-on-the-job.)

Any chance of a picture of the entire plant?

there have been a multitude of posts about the harsh winter.. and the supreme winter damage on such ...

can you be the only person who did not have winter damage??? ... but now have a disease???

i think ... as jean suggests... you are seeing an after effect... and solving such.. will not address the cause ...

pic of the whole is a great place to start ...
