Growing Seeds on Cotton

rainbow_catzSeptember 7, 2013

I'm a newbie gardener and I put all seeds on cotton, so that I can notice easily the growth.
My question is, how long should I germinate the seeds on cotton? As soon as they have root should I move them into soil?
I'm afraid if they aren't big enough they will be bitten by bugs.

Why bother growing them on cotton? It's unnecessary. Start them in soil...a bag of potting mix put into plastic containers. Then you can pop them out and plant them.

Make sure your little seedlings are in full sun or one inch from indoor lights or they will stretch and get too "leggy".
