Where do you buy cheap seeds? Pinetree prices aren't bad, but I miss Value Seed from a few years ago.
It depends on what you are looking for. For heirloom veggies, I go to Baker Creek; most veggies are $2.50 or $3 per packet. I also do a lot of butterfly gardening and want flower species; for these, I go to Prairie Moon, which has an excellent selection at $2 per packet, or to J. L. Hudson. That last mentioned firm has seeds from all over the world, an incredible selection; most packets are $2.50, though a few are cheaper and some a bit higher. All 3 have websites.
This time of year many of the seed companies are having sales of 10-40% off common varieties. If you sign up for their email list you get notifications of such sales as well a email specials that you won't see on the website.
For example Henry Field's currently offers 20% off and free shipping. Good until Dec. 14th.
Value Seeds was ok for a very limited selection of things.

My favorite seed source was truly my mind when I was a "young-n" Remembering all 3 cent to 10 cent seed packets really is about the only thing I would want back from yesterday's "good ole days" only those are both "out of buisiness"!!!
I once got a huge bag of tickseed for cheap on eBay. MILLIONS of seeds!
I love to purchase from sampleseeds.com Remy is the best to work with and I am 1000 miles away and get my seeds after only a day or two.
