Help me ID this large shrub

Kirstin Zone 5a NW ChicagoJuly 27, 2014

Hi, I've cross-posted this on the Name That Plant forum, but maybe this is a better spot. I work at a nursery in Northern IL, and a friend brought me this cutting from a shrub in her neighbor's yard. They want to know what it is. I think it must be from the Fabaceae family, but I'm stumped--can anyone help me id this shrub?

Is it some sort of indigofera?
