Please identify

Has anyone ever seen this type of shrub I just came across it today and I couldn't resist so I took a piece of it and as you can see by the pictures it's got Piny needles or little needles and they release break quickly it appears to have a small flower what is it or what type of shrub is it an edible can I use it for a medicine any help would be appreciated?
