Looking for tall skinny shrubs for privacy fence

gardencats2(8)July 2, 2014

We're going to be taking down 14 tall trees that line our property line. One of the previous owners planted them and didn't give them enough spacing between to grow and they are dying, some are only 2' apart.
I'm looking for some evergreen shrubs to replace them once we have them taken down. My neighbor and I both like the privacy the trees provide so we would like to find a shrub that grows tall (at least 15-20' tall) but doesn't get really wide as some of the shrubs will need to be between a fence and shed.
It looks like Italian Cypress might be a choice as it gets up to 60' tall, what others shrubs would you suggest. I live in Oregon, zone 8.

Consider Degroots Spire arborvitae or North Pole arborvitae.
