i am digging up a dwarf alberta spruce and i need to know how large the root system is so i now how far out i have to dig so i dont hit the roots and damage the plant if anyone can help me out thanks bunch's
how big is the plant?
and why do you need to do it right now.. it is not the best time of year to do such.. but i understand sometimes the project requires such ...
these are extremely cheap conifers .... sometimes its easier to be done with it.. and buy a new one.. rather than invest hour after hour of intense physical labor to move a cheap plant ...
a pic would sure help
If you want a better chance of killing it, do it now. Otherwise, wait for fall. Brandon has a good guide for rootball size and I'm sure he'll have a useful formula for your task.
