Shiny black bugs on willow shrub

wearehappySeptember 9, 2009

I found tons of small, shiny black bugs on the leaves of my willow shrub (Salix Alba Flame) this morning. I don't know what they are or how to get rid of them. Can anyone help?

How about spray them off with the hose? Sometimes that works.

If you are in an area where it gets cold enough that the leaves will fall off the willow come fall/winter, I would not worry about these bugs.

ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5

i doubt anything will slow down or harm a willow ...

bug populations ebb and flow over the years ...
in my z5... with only weeks to go before frost... i surely would NOT use any chemicals on mother earth... or waste money on a willow ...

you dont mention what if any problem they are creating on the willow ... so why do you need to get rid of them ..???
