Troy Bilt Horse (7 hp Kohler) oil leak?

elffar_daveApril 15, 2010

I have an interesting issue. My recently purchased Tiller has a strange oil leak. It seems to be coming from the part that the engine mount rest on, the adjustment bolt with the spring right behind the belts and reverse disk. What seems curious is that when I look at a parts blow-up I don't see any kind of a seal and it really doesn't seem to be a likely place for a leak. It isn't a particularly bad leak but it is a steady leak.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

David

That thing with spring is where adjust netural with bolt nut all so acts as transmission vent. In top cover there plunger it vent by that. Cause yours leaking there could be overfull check by getting tiller level use depth gauge at back to level machine on left side transmission housing 1/4 way down from edge there plug that level plug for oil. If that level ok istall plug. Next possible cause tilting engine to for forward and level oil flud plunger are spring as you said.
