What's a Decent Pressure Washer?

jbd62April 22, 2014

I've owned an electric pressure washer for 2 years and it just died. I'm not going to bad-mouth the brand other than to say their "Institutional American Made Name" now means nothing to me. And I'm also a bit disappointed in a certain membership only big box store since I used to think they were pretty good about vetting the products they decided to sell. Fool me once, but I could've rented a real gas one for the few times I used it and not had to trip over it for two years. But I think I want another one and my brother-in-law might go in with me so I'd only have to trip over it half the year. :)

There are some no-name gas powered brands that are offered nearby. The seller claims to have really good pumps and motors but I don't really know the first thing about them. Ceramic what?

Can anyone educate me on their experience with pressure washers? I figure if you have a big garden, you most likely have some hard scape around too and you like to keep it neat like I do. :)

Thanks in advance!

Had a gas powered PW but it was stolen. Since then I've rented one once or twice a year. No problems, it works, don't have to store it or fuss with gas, etc. problems which are epidemic with small engines that are only infrequently run.

Like everything else, you get what you pay for, really want to have that much $$ sitting unused? Also, the ever popular issue of shared ownership. "It wasn't doing that last weekend when I used it." Who is responsible for chainging oil and other maintenance?

Good luck,

Are you looking for another gas powered washer or an electric one ?

These 2 here are the best , the generac isn't as powerful as the simpson but most people would fine the generac just fine for stuff about the home and garden and it's still easy enough to move around compared to the simpson but it will clean anything you put infront of it.

If you have any other questions just ask :)
