Need perenials that do not need to be divided

val1(z4 UT)April 4, 2012

I am looking for perenials that do not need to be divided or disturbed over a long period of time. We lost our beloved golden retriever last fall and wish to plant something beautiful on her grave. She is buried on the north side of a huge blue spruce. I had a peony and irises there before, but they were not thriving (too much shade is my guess). The daisies and scabosia do well in this location. I would like something about two feet tall. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will try to take a picture of the area tomorrow.

Jacob's Ladder, lady fern, hellebore, columbine or Brunnera 'Jack Frost' might work.

hostas can probably go for 'forever' without division... If Ken pops by this thread, he can confirm...

You're correct about the Hostas. They don't need to be divided.
