Anyone have an oil filter cross reference for the Kohler 23 hp (Courage, I think). CC LT1050 model. Thanks in advance.
"Briggs/Kohler type" 3/4" X 16 threads 8-11 PSI Bypass Gasket 2.734"OD X2 .430"ID 0.226" thick
Length" Wix Purolator Hastings Kohler B&S Baldwin MotorCraft AC Walmart JD
2.3" 57035 NA LF503 2805001 492932 B7165 NA NA? NA ?
2.7" 51056 L35310 LF302 1205001 492056 B1410 NA PF2210 NA AM125424
3.4" 51348 L10241 LF157 5205002 491056 BT223 FL793 PF53 ST3614 AM101207
WIX makes NAPA Gold and CarQuest Blue filters. (identical except for the paint job)
For a NAPA filter, use the last 4 digits of the Wix#
For a CarQuest filter, replace the first 2 digits of the Wix# with 85.
Example. Wix 51348 becomes CarQuest 85348 or NAPA Gold 1348.
Thanks Bill - lots of choices.
I just go to Advance Auto and they have a cross-reference (if you know the OEM part number). They had three different filters that would fit my tractor. I bet the other parts stores have the same.
I need cross no. for Kohler oil filter 12-050-01-s
That's a 2.7" filer.
Single kohler filter 12-050-01 is different from the twin engines. For single you need autozone STP S3512. I have PF52/74 and PH3387 numbers written down, but have not verified they will screw on.
I know for sure the STP S3512 works I installed on my 17.5HP single kohler engine the other day when the super tech ST3614 would not work on single piston kohler.
Just because they screw on doesn't mean they are suitable.
There are other things, such as micron rating, bypass pressure, gasket dimensions and anti drainback valves involved.
T-H-E Filter B-0-0-k in the store Cross-references it and another post on this subject you were involved in reference the STP3512 for single kohlers, that's were I got the number from after I brought the ones that wouldn't screw on, no harm done they fit my vangaurd or my other single briggs.
Anyway, For the faint at heart need to strictly use the "exact" filter recommended by the engine manufacture or the LT manfuacture or don't ask for cheap replacements.
"...and another post on this subject you were involved in reference the STP3512 for single kohlers, that's were I got the number...."
There's a lot of incorrect things said in posts that I'm involved in!
Did you see ME reference those numbers?
For the faint of heart that think they need to use a genuine Deere filter, they should look at the link-
Go to the post from May 7.
Here is a link that might be useful: Deere pics
nope, but I didn't see "Just because they screw on doesn't mean they are suitable" either. the cross reference book says it will? If not? then, why is there a cross reference chart???
You said deere I didn't!!!! I think I was political correct and said LT manufacture! Hee, Hee. I seen those before and shy away from AS filters, why take a chance??, I guess cheap has more meanings than one.
