I am planning to plant this tree in my garden. Wanted to read up and understand about it but i can't seem to locate it's name.
Anyone can help me with its common name and scientific name?
And where is this taken ? It helps..since lots of trees look like this...in various parts of the world.
A close of of the leaves/stem arrangement might also be helpful.
You live in Malaysia and I'm just taking a stab at this:
I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... so it must be a tropical variety.
I am attaching a close up photo on its leaves.
It's bark seems to be shedding all the time
I googled up Thornless Akasia, but it is a different tree.
They guys at the nursery calls it something like: "casuphina" but nobody knows how to spell it.
This is how the complete tree looks like...
Oh, then it must be one of the Caesalpinia...good clue.
If it were here, I'd say Caesalpinia pulcherimma, but that's desert adapted and native....you may have different species. You'll have to wait till it blooms probably to be sure.
Thank you so much for the spelling!!
I googled and it turns out to be "caesalpinia ferrea"
As the trees are much taller and slender looking compared to pulcherimma.
The trunk colour and bark also matches those i seen on ferrea.
I think this is it.
You are good dbarron!
