Handweeders for crowded plantings?

I wouid like to hear what you find to work well for the "hands and knees" weeding where difficult to remove weeds that have a hard grip have grown among close perennials.

Water the soil to soften the soil up first, that is about the most important thing. A good set of knee pads, a pair of gloves.

As for tools, I have them all, none are that useful. Avoid all the long ones that need to step on. just the small one hand little digger.

Cannot emphasize the importance of wetting the soil an hour before pulling and good knee pads.
