Want to put some marigolds (small/short ones) in a biiiggg pot with a rose. How well do they get along?

I've had no problems with them together. Marigolds don't have much of a root system.

They look fab together. I've planted marigolds at the front on my rose border and the contrast between the cheery African types and the elegant roses is great. As hoovb said, not much of a root system so should be fine :)
