Which has the best dealer? Either will serve you very well.

+1. Either is a good machine.

All else being equal, I think the Redmax might be easier to find parts for but check out your local conditions.

I know you were not asking about the Stihls, but I have one of the smaller Stihls, I think like the FS45. I abuse the thing (grass, weeds, thistle) and it still is running. When I bought it, it wasn't much more than that...

I'd go for the Tanaka, with the Brain head.

But not by much as Redmax is top shelf stuff too.

I went to a dealer saturday who carries Echo, Stihl and Redmax. I looked at the SRM-210, FS55 and TR2300.
The Redmax was the clear winner to me; significantly lighter weight and better balanced (to me). I went home and ordered the RM online from Wisesales for $210, (sweet).

Thanx for all responses.

I have a homelite, two Stihls, and the redmax. I'd give up the stihls and homelite before I'd give up the redmax. It's lighter, more powerful, has a longer "range", the bump feed works better, easier to wind the string, better balanced, starts easier, dependable, etc etc. Outstanding machine.
