PIG v. Container soil differences

drunkbearrApril 9, 2014

Hi, new to this forum, seeking expertise...

Wondering what are the major differences in well-draining soil composition (for succulent plants) for containers, versus planting in the ground as I'm currently doing.

for containers, I've gone off of the advice posted in the container guide forums.

for planting in ground, up till now i've mixed 1 part soil (low peat) : 2-3 part (pumice, perlite, crushed gravel) with decent results

am i on the right track?

I noticed there is a Cacti and Succulents forum here, so if you don't get your answers here in the Soil forum, you might post over there.
