Have a Scotts Turfmaster NOMA built mini tiller

Serial C(or E)1016000 first number hard to make out.

SERIAL S009829330999 Code 4098

I need to know the part# of the gear box as I need to replace it. Would also like to find a parts manual.

Tried outdorparts and others but couldnt find any info.

Noma was Murray which is now owned by Briggs and Stratton. You would probably be further ahead replacing the tiller, they are very inexpensive.

I was told a gearbox is 75 bucks new but I cant find anybody who has one. This little tiller has given me exceptional service. I like the Tecumseh engine because it starts so easy so I would like to fix it.

The Noma name hasn't been used for so long its doubtful anything was available even prior to Briggs obtaining Murray. Briggs is not supporting part past 97. Your best bet is Ebay or finding it used somewhere. Perhaps a similar unit with a blown engine.

Like Canguy said they were not expensive units. If you like the Tecumseh TC engine I think there are still some brands using them.

I have a Scotts Turfmaster tiller, model no. E1016000, S/N S00274833099. I need the tine shaft with the bronze gear in the center that coincides with the worm gear. I've searched the web with no luck so far can you steer me in the right direction, I don't know the year model it was given to me when my wife's Aunt passed away, but it's a great little tiller and has worked great for several years now at least until today.
Thanks for any help, elliott-50
