Mantis Fuel Tank

pittcubsJune 7, 2010

I have an old (20 yrs +) Mantis tiller that still runs well.

The problem I have is the leaking fuel tank. I've talked to

Mantis and they do not have parts for my model (SV-2AE) and

I've tried a number of times to seal the leak along the fuel

tank seam, but it still leaks.

Any ideas where I might be able to find a replacement tank or

how to do a better job fixing the leak?

Thanks for the help.

The engine is made by Echo, any Echo dealer can get one for you.

I am not so sure that the 2 cycle engine is always Echo. I have parts diagram of a lot of the Mantis, they do not look the same. They have at least 3 different 2 cycle engine that I can tell.

Did you tell the Mantis people what model serial number and ask who make the engine for them? You might want to download your IPL and manual first before you do further search. they have it on their site, I think you just need to match the serial number.

Thanks for the feedback, Guys.
The engine is, in fact, an Echo.
I have the serial # as well.
I'll check with an Echo dealer and
see what he can do.

Thanks again.
