No Spark on Toro Snowblower

marshcatAugust 10, 2010

I recently acquired a Toro 7hp snowblower. The snowblower has no spark. I pulled the flywheel and found a prong on the coil that looks like it should have a wire coming from it.

Could this be the cause of my lack of spark? Where should I wire the prong to.

Take a look at the pictures to see what I am talking about.

The tang is for a wire to the interlock system and kill switch. Yours may not have such a system, only a tab over the spark plug.
That is an old system, pre 1984. Swing the wire clip out of the way and remove the cover. Points p/n 30547C and condenser p/n 30548C likely need to be replaced.
