metal lathe

ray_and_laura(North Calif.)September 6, 2011

Do any of you guys have or know of a stash of parts for an Atlas/Craftsman 12 inch metal lathe?

A COMPLETELY disassembled one was given to my son and I'm assembling it for him.

He is a Marine Corps vet and is now pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering using the GI bill. His school and family obligations take up 100+% of his time so he dumped the lathe project on me.

My email is rwaldbaum@aol.com

Thanks in advance for any information and leads.

Ray

I feel some lathe parts are universal as some stock chucks, drill chucks, live centers etc. What parts do you need? I have a few extra 9" South Bend Parts. Surplus sales due to computerized Tech/CNC put a lot of the old lathes out. North TX's DFW is a Strong-Hold IMO due to the Air Craft Industry. loger

Hopefully, you don't need much. Look on ebay. Tons of parts on there.
