Willow tree

Miranda.Fairbanks7March 17, 2013

My weeping willow tree isn't weeping. I have more vertical branches than ones hanging. The vertical branches are short and go across a weeping branch. I don't know if it is due to lack of water. Just message me back if you need a picture.

Thank you!

Nope, it wouldn't be from lack of water. A picture or two might give us more info.

Maybe a grafted tree, and the rootstock (non-pendulous) has overtaken the pendulous graft.

one might say.. that weeping willow has vertical leaders.. and secondary branches that weep from that ... otherwise.. it would never grow upwards ...

in other words.. your words alone fail ... we need pic.. posted here .. to comment on what your problem might be.. if any at all ... [please do not send it to my email] ...

young trees may not be in a recognizable form ... but that might not mean anything is wrong ...

BTW.. are you sure on the ID ... there are many kinds of willow ... besides the weeping form ...
