2 " gate valves leak

kirk39July 18, 2013

Have 2" water lines for sprinklers, using 2" gate valves that
dont totally shut off water to the sprinkler heads.
Any suggestion on how to stop this condition .
I dont think Anti-Siphon valve are available in 2"
Water lines are run off a well.

Capt,
Google 2" in-line check valves. The gate valves need protection from the well water which probable has debris that get stuck in the gate blade when it is closed. A filter before the gate valves would be good. I would use ball valves as a better option than gate valve in your situation. Watts has a 2" backflow preventer around $300. JMHO Aloha
